Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 8, 2026

Foliomere is a local-first study reader. This policy explains how the Foliomere iOS app handles information. The current version has no accounts, advertising, behavioral analytics, or third-party tracking.

1. Data processed by the app

The app processes and stores EPUB, PDF, TXT, and Markdown files that you choose to import, together with reading progress, highlights, bookmarks, notes, and reading preferences. This data is used only to provide reading and study features on your device and is not uploaded to developer-operated servers.

2. Data we do not collect

The current version does not collect identifiers, contact information, location, browsing history, diagnostics, advertising identifiers, or user content. We do not use data for tracking, advertising, profiling, or sale.

3. File access and system services

When you choose a document through the iOS document picker, iOS grants the app the access needed to read that selected file. System backup behavior is controlled by your device and Apple Account settings and does not mean that the developer collects your data.

4. Third-party open-source components

The app uses Readium Swift Toolkit to parse and render EPUB files on-device, along with related open-source components for document processing and safety checks. The current version does not use these components to upload your documents or study records. Licenses are available in the app under About & Privacy.

5. Retention, export, and deletion

Data remains in the app sandbox for as long as you choose. You can remove a book and its related study marks from the library, or export your study notes to a location you select. Deleting the app removes its local sandbox data through iOS; copies in system backups are governed by Apple's backup settings and retention practices.

6. Children's privacy

The app does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users. Private documents that users import are not received or published by the developer.

7. Support website

This support website uses Cloudflare Pages for delivery and security and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts. Cloudflare may process technical connection information necessary to deliver and protect the website and troubleshoot failures. This is separate from the local reading data inside the Foliomere app.

8. Changes to this policy

If a future release introduces cloud sync, accounts, analytics, or other data transfers, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure before those features become active and request consent where required by law.
